We are a Property & Casualty Managing General Agency writing 100+ million in annual premium seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Underwrite and rate new and renewal risks.
• Service new business accounts based on a defined set of underwriting guidelines.
• Develop relationships with agents by negotiating coverage terms and premiums.
• Assist agents with renewal and new business quotes.
• Develop rapport with company underwriters.
• Assist the department in meeting monthly production goals.
• Train agents on products, underwriting appetite and submission requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• College degree, Professional designations a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years Personal Lines underwriting experience in Company, MGA or Agency environment.
• Self-directed, efficient and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Aptitude for critical thinking and problem resolution.
• High level of computer proficiency with experience on insurance company systems.
• Friendly, upbeat personality with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Inherent desire to embrace change and pursue continuous improvement.
• Team player with collaborative attitude.
• Prior retail agency experience a plus
• P&C license required

• Providing renewal and new business quotes to agents -corresponding with agents and companies regarding their policies -servicing agents requests for coverage changes
• Ordering various underwriting reports
• Policy issuance

• Minimum 2 years P&C experience
